This car started out as a Challenger Deputy coupe (option code A93) but has been cloned into an R/T and painted white. You can see some of the original pink in places. The current owners are contemplating how it will be restored.
The low priced Challenger Deputy coupe was a mid-year introduction in March of 1970. The model was similar to the base Challenger hardtop with the following exceptions:
Fixed rear quarter windows. Crank holes covered with chrome buttons.
Standard six cylinder engine is 198 cubic inches instead of 225. Base 318 V8 unchanged.
Seats same as base Barracuda bucket style in black or white only.
No woodgrain inserts on door panels.
Black steering wheel rim instead of woodgrain. Same as base Barracuda.
Dual horns, cigar lighter and day/night rear view mirror optional.
This car is missing its fender tag but this is an estimation of what the tag would have on it based on the broadcast sheet.
