1970 Plymouth Road Runner Convertible
|
This car is owned by Michelle Freand and her husband.
Here is her story on the car.
In 1977 my dad purchased a 1970 Roadrunner Convertible in the color of Moulin Rouge. After years of neglect, he gave it to my husband and I to restore. Finally after 5 years, the restoration is almost complete. We are hoping to make an appearance at Lewiston's Hot August Nights, August 24-27, 2006.
The car wasn't in that bad of shape, just neglected. My dad had it painted red in about 1978 or 1979. He said he got so much flack from having a pink car, he finally got tired of it and had it painted red. That was the worst thing. Plus he always had over-heating problems with it. We tried to use as much stuff from the car as possible, but somethings we had to order. Like the new top. It still has the 8 track player in it, and we even found 3 8-track tapes in the jockey box. We just took the player down and had it cleaned, but the speakers had to be changed out.
It has all matching numbers and the original broadcast sheet.
Photos of the finished car will be added when available.
