This car started out as a Challenger Deputy coupe (option code A93) but has been cloned into an R/T and painted white. You can see some of the original pink in places. The current owners are contemplating how it will be restored.
The low priced Challenger Deputy coupe was a mid-year introduction in March of 1970. The model was similar to the base Challenger hardtop with the following exceptions:
- Fixed rear quarter windows. Crank holes covered with chrome buttons.
- Standard six cylinder engine is 198 cubic inches instead of 225. Base 318 V8 unchanged.
- Seats same as base Barracuda bucket style in black or white only.
- No woodgrain inserts on door panels.
- Black steering wheel rim instead of woodgrain. Same as base Barracuda.
- Dual horns, cigar lighter and day/night rear view mirror optional.
This car is missing its fender tag but this is an estimation of what the tag would have on it based on the broadcast sheet.
