1970 Plymouth Duster 340

This car was owned by Charles Clark of Washington but now has a new owner.

Here is Charles' story on the car.

The car originally came out of Southern Calif. I scored it as a basket case out of Lancaster, CA. It was missing the motor and did not have the original trans. It did have the data plate and all left over moulin rouge paint in the trunk, under sill mouldings etc.

My buddy Roger Million who lives in Los Angeles (Lakewood, CA actually) helped me out a whole lot with this car. When I first found the car I was up here in WA state and did not have a way to see it up close. When I brought it up to Roger he was interested in the car and volunteered to go look at it for me. He drove from his home in Lakewood to Lancaster, shot pix and did a thorough review of the entire car, had them developed same day and then next day aired the pix and review to me. Not only that, a couple weeks later when I flew down to buy it, we used his truck to trailer it to his house at which point I flew back home. A few weeks after that, he recruited some help to load the old Duster on a trailer and drove it all the way to my home in WA state - straight - With only a couple pitstops!!!

I picked up a std bore '70 340 block for it and restored it to it's original glory As you can see the car was pretty sad when I got it but it turned out nicely. I am happy with it. Just a couple more tweeks and it will be totally done! It needed a trunk pan. Both quarters were replaced. Floors were awesome as was the engine compartment. Overall it was a strong platform in which to perform a restoration
