Seller's Description:

Well, I really wanted to restore this rare car myself but, I must let her go to a new home.

While I would love to see this car restored to it's original fender tag, this manual three speed Barracuda would also make an excellent foundation for a Hemi Shaker Car.

I bought this 1970 Panther Pink Barracuda from the second owner who had owned her since 1972! Parked on a busy county road south of Dallas TX, the previous owner would get requests almost daily to sell the car. Three years ago the car was parked following an encounter with a vandal. I bought the car in it's present condition.

As the car is now, every panel on the car will need dent repair to some degree. All of the glass will need replaced. While the trunk pan is much better than most I have seen, the center section will need replaced but, the outer and drop down extensions are excellent.

The Grill is in Excellent condition. Only one headlight bucket needed.

I inspected the frame front to back and there is NO RUST or damage. Rockers, inner and outer wheel houses are perfect. The hood hinge areas are perfect as well with no rust. There is a small hole under the battery tray.

The car has never been in an accident. Included are floor pan shots which will show that both front foot areas of the floor pan will need replaced. Back seat floor areas still show factory stamped metal but have some small holes here and there. Full pans or section patching will be the choice of the bodyman.

There is some lower window channel rust at the base of the front windshield. This is an easy repair.

The outter skin of this car is 99% rust free and looks to be all original metal so, as bad as the dents look, it is a strong positive that you will be working with healthy Texas sheet metal.

One can go the quick route and just reskin the car or, work the original metal.

This car has had only one cheap repaint and the interior is original, complete and ready for restoration.

The motor, trans and rear end are original to the car and are fully operational.

If you are still reading this auction, you understand that the FM3 Panther Pink cars are rare and this car would be most interesting if restored back to the way it was ordered but, if you win the auction, she is yours and you will decide her future. Fender tag, dash vin tag and door vin tag are all in excellent condition. I also found the Broadcast sheet inside the passenger seat back. The Broadcast sheet is in excellent condition! Original owner's manual is included!

Four tires will be installed at my expense before shipping . The car will run to load and unload. The car has not been a daily driver for three years.

Please feel free to call me directly if you have any questions about the car.

On May-11-07 at 08:23:18 PDT, seller added the following information:

Spoke with a bidder yesterday and was asked if I found the vin number on the motor and transmission. The owner since 1972 told me the drivetrain was original to the car.

This morning I found the original vin number on the transmission but could not find a vin number on the motor. Searching further, I found a remanufactured tag on the block. Just spoke with the owner since 72 and he remembered that his Father and Brother pulled the original motor to rebuild it in the late 70's. They decided it would be easier to buy a remanufactured motor. I then asked if he thought the original motor may be around. His Father is one of those people that never throws anything away. I was promised by the previous owner that he will ask his Father about the motor and go over and personally look for it. He said there is a good chance it is still there since his Father has not moved and he never throws anything away.

I am posting this new information in all honesty as I want all bidders to understand the car as it is. If the original motor is found, I will ship it to the winning bidder at my expense.
