This car was purchased new by Gary Kozlowski's father and after a 2 1/2 decade search, Gary has located the car.
My dad ordered it at Johnny Motor Sales in Hamtramck, Michigan after returning from Vietnam. Traded in his 70 Lemon Twist 383/4-spd 'Cuda for it.
Johnny Motor Sales later closed down and moved down the street and became Woody Pontiac. The Runner was traded in, in August of 1971 at Krajenke Buick in Hamtramck.
Then, aprox. 2 years later, it vanished and was never seen again.
Until Now!
As it turns out, it was stolen, recovered, and junked in 1972 or '73. Then, burried in a junkyard for 3 or 4 years. Hidden under a mountain of car seats. Then sold, just before it met its fate with the crusher.
It was recently found in a barn where it has been for more than 40 years!
This car was bonding source between my father and me. It truly was something that brought us together as a father/son. And really repaired a very broken relationship.
